Terms & Conditions of Booking
Last updated: February 2026
1. General
These terms and conditions apply to all private ski and snowboard lessons booked with The Collective Zermatt ("we", "us", "our"), Schluhmattstrasse 154, 3920 Zermatt, Switzerland. By booking a lesson, you agree to these terms.
2. Bookings
Lessons can be booked via our website, WhatsApp, phone, or email. A booking is confirmed once we send written confirmation (via email or WhatsApp). We recommend booking in advance during peak periods (Christmas, New Year, February half-term) as availability is limited.
3. Pricing and payment
All lesson prices are quoted in Swiss Francs (CHF) and are per instructor, not per person. Families or small groups sharing an instructor pay a single lesson fee. Current prices are listed on our What We Offer page.
Payment is due at the end of each lesson or at the end of a multi-day booking period, unless otherwise agreed. We accept cash (CHF and EUR) and major credit cards.
4. Cancellation policy
- More than 48 hours before the lesson: Full refund or free rescheduling.
- Less than 48 hours before the lesson: 50% of the lesson fee is charged. The remaining 50% is refunded or credited toward a future lesson.
- No-show: The full lesson fee is charged.
We ask that you notify us of cancellations as soon as possible via WhatsApp, phone, or email.
5. Weather and lift closures
If we determine that conditions are dangerous (severe storms, extreme avalanche risk, or full resort closure), we will cancel the lesson and offer a full refund or free rescheduling.
Partial lift closures due to wind, fog, or localised conditions do not automatically constitute dangerous conditions. In these cases, your instructor will adapt the lesson plan to available terrain. If you choose not to ski in these conditions, the standard cancellation policy applies.
6. Lift passes and equipment
You are responsible for obtaining a valid Zermatt ski pass and appropriate ski or snowboard equipment (including a helmet, which we strongly recommend). Lift passes and equipment rental are not included in the lesson price. Your instructor can recommend rental shops in Zermatt.
7. Health and fitness
Skiing and snowboarding are physically demanding activities with inherent risks. You should be in reasonable physical health to participate. Please inform your instructor of any medical conditions, injuries, or physical limitations before the lesson begins. If you are unsure whether you are fit to ski, consult a medical professional beforehand.
8. Liability
We take every reasonable precaution to ensure your safety during lessons. However, skiing and snowboarding carry inherent risks including falls, collisions, and changing mountain conditions. By booking a lesson, you acknowledge and accept these risks.
The Collective Zermatt and its instructors shall not be liable for injury, loss, or damage arising from participation in lessons, except in cases of gross negligence or wilful misconduct. We strongly recommend that you have appropriate travel and winter sports insurance that covers skiing and snowboarding activities in Switzerland.
9. Photography and media
Your instructor may take photos or videos during the lesson for your personal use. If we wish to use any images for marketing purposes (website, social media), we will always ask for your explicit consent first.
10. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Switzerland. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of the Canton of Valais, Switzerland.
