Who we are

The Collective Zermatt is an independent ski and snowboard school based in Zermatt, Switzerland. This website is operated by The Collective, Schluhmattstrasse 154, 3920 Zermatt, Switzerland.

What data we collect

We collect only the data necessary to provide our services:

• Contact form submissions: Your name, email address, and message when you use the contact form on our website. This data is stored securely and used solely to respond to your enquiry.
• Booking information: Your name, email address, phone number, and lesson preferences when you book a lesson. This data is stored in our booking system (hosted on Supabase) and used to manage your reservation.
• Member accounts: If you create an account, we store your email address and a securely hashed password. We never store passwords in plain text.

Analytics

We use Cloudflare Web Analytics, a privacy-first analytics service that does not use cookies, does not track individual users, and does not collect personal data. It measures aggregate page views and performance metrics only. No data is shared with third parties for advertising purposes.

Cookies

This website does not use tracking cookies or advertising cookies. If you create a member account, a session cookie is used to keep you logged in. This cookie is essential for the service to function and is not used for tracking.

Third-party services

We use the following services to operate this website:

• Cloudflare: Website hosting and content delivery. Cloudflare may process technical data (IP addresses, request headers) to deliver pages and protect against abuse. See Cloudflare's privacy policy.
• Cloudflare Turnstile: Bot protection on our contact and booking forms. Turnstile verifies that submissions come from real users without using CAPTCHAs or tracking cookies.
• Supabase: Secure database hosting for bookings and member accounts. Data is stored in a PostgreSQL database with row-level security. See Supabase's privacy policy.

We do not use Google Analytics, Facebook Pixel, or any other third-party tracking or advertising services.

How we protect your data

All data is transmitted over encrypted HTTPS connections. Booking and contact data is stored in a secure database with access controls. We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties for marketing purposes.

Data retention

Contact form submissions are retained for up to 12 months to allow us to follow up on enquiries. Booking records are retained for the duration of the ski season plus 12 months for administrative purposes. You may request deletion of your data at any time.

Your rights under Swiss law

Under the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection (nFADP), you have the right to:

• Request access to the personal data we hold about you
• Request correction of inaccurate data
• Request deletion of your data
• Object to the processing of your data
• Request a copy of your data in a portable format
